ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered the shutdown offive illegal Law Colleges operating across Pakistan.
The law colleges have affiliation with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto UniversityBenazirabad, which is not recognised or authorised by the Pakistan BarCouncil to offer an LL.B programme.
Justice Umar Ata Bandial also noted that 114 law colleges affiliated withdifferent universities of the country had been recommended by the SpecialCommittee of PBC to be disaffiliated on account of below the mark andsubstandard.
Those colleges ordered to be immediately closed include Leons Law College,Intelligentia Law College Moro, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Law CollegeNaushahro Feroze, Ali Law College Sanghar and Shah-e-Ali Law College TandoAdam.
