KABUL – The US forces based in Afghanistan have carried out an airstrike ona hideout of ISIS Khurasan in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan,leaving at least four dead.
The provincial government media office in a statement said the airstrikewas carried out late on Saturday night in the vicinity of Achin district.
The statement further added that the hideout of the terror group wastargeted in Bandar area and as a result at least four ISIS Khurasanmilitants have been killed.
Several weapons and munitions belonging to ISIS Khurasan militants werealso destroyed during the airstrike, the statement added.
In the meantime, the provincial government said at least three Talibaninsurgents were killed during an operation of the Special Forces of theAfghan intelligence in Khogyani district.
According to the governor’s office in Nangarhar, the three Talibanmilitants killed during the operation were the explosives experts and alarge quantity of explosives was also destroyed during the operation.
At least two suspects were also arrested during the same operation, theprovincial government said, adding that the local residents and securitypersonnel have not suffered any casualty during the airstrike and theoperation in Khogyani.
This comes as the 201st Silab Corps had earlier said the three militantshave been killed during the artillery strikes of the Afghan army and atleast seven others were wounded.
