Pakistan Army Chief inuagurtres Pak Afghan border fencing in Balochistan

QUETTA – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa inaugurated work onborder fencing along the Balochistan portion of Pak- Afghan border atPanjpai.

According to the ISPR, Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Qadoos Bazinjo andInterior Minister Sarfraz Bugti were also present on the occasion.

Interacting with the tribal leaders and locals at the occasion, COASthanked them for their full support and cooperation in fencing as well astheir participation in maintaining security situation. He said that thefencing will check cross border movement of terrorists. “However, specialarrangements have been made to facilitate bilateral economic activity andlegal movement in any way or form through designated crossing points.”

The CM Balochistan thanked Pakistan Army and FC for working hand in glovewith the provincial government to achieve a common vision of shiningBalochistan.

At Quetta, COAS did earth breaking ceremony of NUST Quetta campus. “With anestimated cost of Rs 2.63 billion, the campus spans over 30 acres and willhouse 550 students. Besides usual disciplines, it will also have fieldspandering to specific requirements of Balochistan such as mining, waterresource engineering etc.”

Later, the COAS also inaugurated the Quetta Safe City Project which washeld up for the last five years. It will cost Rs 2.28 billion. Uponcompletion, it will result in quick incremental betterment in law and ordersituation and make Quetta more safe and secure.

The COAS also interacted with youth from various universities of Quetta. Hesaid that army will wholeheartedly support the government in bringing arevolution in services, particularly in fields of education, health,electricity, water and infrastructure. “Our aim is to ensure thatBalochistan does not have to rely on any quota or special arrangement,rather, people have same level of life as they can in any other part of thecountry.”

He said that Pakistan has rejected terrorism and has achieved better peaceafter great sacrifices by Armed Forces backed by the whole nation. “Someelements are trying to influence the minds of our youth at this stage tocreate anarchy and dissatisfaction in the society. The Pakistan Army willensure the defence of the motherland in discharge of our constitutionalduties. It is for everyone to ensure that they abide by law of the land andremain within the bounds of constitution,” he maintained.

The COAS asked the youth to take Pakistan forward through devotion,hardwork and character.
