*KABUL- Afghan Taliban attacked a police base in southern Kandahar provinceon Wednesday night, security sources confirmed.*

Four policemen were killed and three other policemen were wounded in theattack, TOLO news has reported.

The attack stared at about 8:30pm local time at police headquarters in SpinBoldak district of the province after a suicide car bomber first detonatedhis explosive close to the police base. Two other attackers then stormedthe police compound and clashed with the security forces, according to thesources.

“The two attackers were killed by security forces but the clash lasted fornearly two and a half hours,” sources said.

But Gen. Abdul Raziq, Kandahar police chief says that only one borderpoliceman was killed in the attack.
