Blame game intensifies between the PDM government partners

Blaming Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for the economic turmoil plaguing the nation, former National Assembly member Shahida Rehmani, representing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), expressed her concerns regarding the failure of all PML-N ministers who held positions in the previous coalition government.

Shahida Rehmani emphasized that PML-N had a tendency to deflect blame for its own shortcomings, effectively concealing its incompetence.

In her conversation with City 21, she reiterated the PPP's unwavering demand for general elections to be held within 90 days following the dissolution of the National Assembly. Shahida firmly stated that the PPP had already made this demand and would continue to do so. She emphasized that this call was non-negotiable.

Addressing the misconception that the PPP was a part of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of political parties that briefly governed the country after the ousting of the PTI government in April 2022, Shahida clarified that her party was a member of the government, not the PDM.

During her statements, Shahida highlighted the concern expressed over rising inflation during the recent meeting of the CEC (Central Executive Committee). Furthermore, she praised the foreign policy devised by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who had served as the foreign minister in the previous government, characterizing it as 'historic' and garnering international acclaim
