Pakistan seeks diplomatic success against Indian lobby at international front

On October 7, 2023, U.S. Special Representative Thomas West and Ambassador Masood Khan engaged in discussions with a group of U.S. lawmakers. These lawmakers expressed their dedication to enhancing the Pakistan-U.S. relationship by broadening cooperation in various areas, such as trade, investment, renewable energy, climate change, and regional security.
Ambassador Masood Khan held meetings with several prominent figures, including Senator Bill Hagerty, Senator Jon Ossoff, Representative Jim Banks, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, and Representative Jason Crow.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude to numerous U.S. lawmakers for their unwavering support in rejecting an amendment that sought to restrict assistance to Pakistan under the State Foreign Operations and Related Programs Appropriations (SFOPS) Act 2024.
In these meetings, the Ambassador explored avenues to reinforce the Pak-U.S. partnership, emphasizing trade, investment, energy, counter-terrorism, and regional dynamics. Discussions also covered defense, science and technology, education, renewable energy, climate change, and regional security.
Separately, Ambassador Masood Khan extended his appreciation to several U.S. Congress members for their strong support in opposing the aforementioned amendment.
