Former President of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and former PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani has said that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should show leadership if Pakistani spectators and journalists are not issued visas for India, and the Pakistani cricket team should be called back before the matches against India.
In an interview with Geo News, Ehsan Mani stated that in situations where India has created a hostile environment for Pakistani spectators and journalists by constructing "no-go areas," there is no justification for Pakistan's cricket team to participate in the World Cup in India. He urged the PCB to make a decision on this matter and expose India's conspiracy.
He also emphasized that mixing politics with cricket is not appropriate, and India is violating the ICC's agreements by creating such circumstances.
He pointed out that no tournament can take place without spectators and journalists, and under the current circumstances, if Pakistan recalls its team from India, it will not cause financial harm to the PCB.
Mani mentioned that during his tenure as PCB Chairman, he had raised this issue three times in ICC meetings, questioning what policy would be in place for Pakistani spectators and journalists. He stated that Saro Ganguly, the President of the Indian Board at that time, had assured him that there would be no issue with visas for Pakistanis. However, now that the tournament has started, Pakistani nationals are being denied entry into India.
