KABUL: In Afghanistan, Taliban fighters have destroyed bridges near Ghazni city, closing the main highway between Kabul and southern Afghanistan.
Officials said, clashes erupted between Afghan soldiers and Taliban who were trying to gain control over parts of Ghazni province nearly two months after being pushed back from the city by U.S.-backed Afghan forces.
Afghan forces say they are also fighting Taliban to retake control of a highway linking Ghazni and Paktia. (Reuters)
