KP Police new initiative of city patrolling project in Peshawar

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Police Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to launch a new project `City Patrolling' in Peshawar to further improve security measures in the city.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abbas Majeed Marwat said policemen in this squad will not perform duty at any police station and they will do patrolling in different parts of the city in two shifts and will remain prepared to deal with any criminal activity, reported a private news channel on Friday.

He said two hundred policemen have been trained for this new squad and 22 vans have also been acquired for them.

He said the first phase of this service will be initiated in the Cantonment and City circles after Muharram and then project will be extended to the whole city.

The SPP said the members of this squad will also be responsible for opening the blocked roads, helping the elderly people to cross the road and taking the injured people to hospital in cases of accidents.
