Former national team captain and coach Inzamam-ul-Haq discussed his experience of the first edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) while talking in the sports program 'The Pavilion.' He mentioned that in the 2007 IPL, Zaheer Khan and Praveen Kumar were part of their team, and their coaches knew that both bowlers had a unique swing in their deliveries, which became their strength.
Inzamam-ul-Haq stated that both bowlers used to work on their swing daily with the coaches, focusing on how to maintain the right position and the proper action. They practiced it consistently.
He added that conditions in India are favorable, pitches are good, and the batsmen score well. If your new ball swing isn't effective, you won't be able to achieve anything there.
The former captain said that if you watch YouTube or research fast bowling anywhere today, you'll find that most videos focus on the perspective of Indian bowling coaches.
Even in club cricket, coaches emphasize swing and outswing to benefit bowlers in the long run.
