Indian Army officials death toll on LoC since 2001 crosses 4500: Indian Army spokesman

NEW DELHI: Indian Army has revealed startling figures about the number of deaths in the Indian Army since 2001.
According to Indian Army officials, over 4500 Indian soldiers have been killed in cross border firing along LoC since 2001.
The statement was issued by Indian Army in reply of an RTI inquiry.
The report by Indian Army revealed that post Kargil War, 4,567 Indian personnel died in cross border firing with Pakistan. The report does not reveal the number of firing exchange incidents along LoC.
The report further stated that as many as 1,174 army personnel have been killed in militant attacks such as Pathankot incident.
According to Indian Army sources, 7,908 militant attacks have occurred in India since 2001.
