Federal government intensifies crackdown against banned outfits, hundreds of seminaries and activists seized

ISLAMABAD Ministry of Interior on Thursday announced that Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in the country have taken 121 activists of Proscribed Organizations (POs) in to preventive detention in its ongoing crackdown under National Action Plan (NAP).
A statement issued here said, in addition, the provincial authorities have also taken administrative control of their 182 seminaries, 34 schools and colleges, five hospitals, 163 dispensaries, 184 ambulances and eight offices.
The operation against banned outfits is a continuing process and part of NAP-2014, the statement said and added Ministry of Interior is in well coordination with provincial governments as well as law enforcement institutions.
