Indian Army three officials hit by Nagas, three militants killed

NEW DELHI: The insurgency in the Nagaland and other states is gradually rising by the Maoists, Nagas and Naxals with every passing day in India as more and more attacks are being witnessed by the Indian Army and the Indian CRPF in the trouble hit areas.

Indian Army on Tuesday killed three ‘militants’ in an encounter in Nagaland.

The encounter at also left three soldiers injured. Unconfirmed reports said a civilian had been killed but the army refused to confirm, according to Indian media.

The militants were believed to be from the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang) and the United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent).

“The incident took place around 10pm. Based on information about movement of terrorists, the officer and his team went to the area when they were ambushed and an encounter ensued,” army spokesperson Lt Col Chiranjeet Konwer told Hindustan Times over phone from Kohima.

“The encounter is over and combing operations are underway,” Konwer said.
