Three High Ranking government officials arrested by Anti Corruption Department in Lahore

In a significant breakthrough against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Department has conducted a major operation resulting in the arrest of three high-ranking officers from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on charges of corruption.

The spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Department confirmed the arrests, shedding light on the illegal issuance of completion certificates in exchange for bribes.

The accused individuals, identified as LDA Director Salman Mahfouz, Deputy Director Tayyab Ali, and Assistant Director Inayatullah, all from LDA Town Planning Wing II, were apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Department. Additionally, Clerk Ijaz Sattar was also taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the bribery scheme.

According to the investigation, the accused officials accepted a staggering amount of 30 lakhs Pakistani Rupees as a bribe in exchange for approving a plan. This unlawful act caused a substantial loss of approximately 860 million Pakistani Rupees to the national exchequer.

During the interrogation, Clerk Ejaz Sattar confessed to receiving the bribe amount and facilitating the transfer to the accused officers. Furthermore, it was discovered that the accused officials had deliberately removed the original file from the records to conceal their illicit activities.

The Anti-Corruption Department has registered a case against the accused and vowed to take stringent action against all individuals involved in corrupt practices. This operation serves as a clear demonstration of the department's commitment to combating corruption and upholding the rule of law.
