Azad Jammu and Kashmir to observe 2019 as year of tourism

Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has announced to observe 2019 as Year of Tourism.
A function was held in this connection at Kohala, the main entry point of the Azad Kashmir, where AJK Secretary Tourism Midhat Shahzad briefed people about the tourism potential in the state.
Under the special directives of AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, the state government has evolved a comprehensive plan to promote tourism through Public Private Partnership in the state.
Under the plan, steps would be taken to generate revenue through tourism promotion and to increase employment opportunities in the state.
Tourism Department's sources said that "Smart Cards" are being issued for the tourists visiting scenic areas of the state to provide them maximum facilities.
