ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Youth Affairs Usman Dar said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government had strongly believed in supremacy of law and accountability without any discrimination.
Talking to a private news channel, he said the nation wanted to see accountability in the country and those who were involved in massive corruption should have to face the cases.
He said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was performing its duty independently and let to decide that who would have to arrest or not.
Replying to a question, he said in the past Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples Party had intervened in the matters of NAB for their personal interests but the incumbent government was not using these tactics against its political opponents.
He said the government was ready for legislation to establish unobjectionable accountability system in the country if the Opposition sincerely supports the government for the purpose.
Usman Dar said there was need to bring some changes in NAB laws regarding making the accountability process more strengthen and the Opposition should come forward and play its due role in that regard.
He said, now, the Opposition should have to satisfy that a sitting PTI minister Abdul Aleem Khan was arrested by NAB for cases against him.
He said the government had not made any political victimization from day one till now.
