Pakistan to grow seedless kinnow

MULTAN: The Punjab agriculture department has started process for the providing seedless kinno and quality date trees to farmers.
The government is spending millions of rupees to provide trees to farmers with an objective to enhance the yield of fruits and improve financial condition of farmers. The date trees will be provided to farmers hailing from nine different districts including Bahawalpur, Multan, Jhang, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Bhakkar, and Rahim Yar Khan.
Similarly, farmers of district Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Mandi Bahauddin, Vehari, Sahiwal, and Layyah. The date trees would be given free while kinno trees on subsidize prices.
The farmers could get forms from office of project director/horticulture research station Bahawalpur while the forms of kinno are available at Office of Director Citrus Research Station.
Farmers could also download forms at website www.agripunjab.gov.pk. The farmers are instructed to submit forms by Feb 20.
