ISLAMABAD - PTI government mulls economic corridor with Afghanistan through Torkham border.

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser says Pakistan wants improved relations with Afghanistan because of our shared language, religion and way of living.

He was addressing a function in Mardan on Saturday.

The Speaker said the incumbent government is working to enhance trade ties with Afghanistan. He said Landi Kotal road will be made an economic corridor.

Asad Qaiser said steps are afoot to increase the employment opportunities in erstwhile FATA.

The Speaker said FATA reforms are among his priorities and no effort will be spared for the development and progress of the people of this area.

Asad Qaiser said the policies adopted by PTI government will have far reaching impacts. He said the government is working to develop Pakistan on sound footings which is evident from the recent reports of international rating agencies about the country.

Earlier, the Speaker addressed the Sports Gala ceremony at Centre for Speech and Hearing in Mardan. He said there is no risk of any constitutional crisis on the issue of election commission.

He said we should stand at one platform for the sake of the country.

The Speaker also announced to upgrade the school of the center to a college and 10 million rupees fund for it.
