Constitutional rights to GB: SC gives important instructions

ISLAMABAD - Supreme Court has constituted a special committee to finalize recommendations on extending constitutional rights to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
A seven-member bench of the Apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar passed the order while hearing a case about providing constitutional rights to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan in Islamabad today.
The Committee headed by Attorney General of Pakistan will comprise senior lawyers Aitazaz Ahsan, Salman Akram Raja, Javed Ahmed , Afrasiab and Secretary Ministry of Kashmir Affairs.
The Court directed the committee to take on board all the stakeholders and submit its recommendations by Tuesday next.
The hearing has now been adjourned to 24th of this month.
