Afghan President calls for joint peace efforts to achieve lasting peace

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has called for joint peace efforts to achieve a lasting peace in Afghanistan.
Talking to visiting U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad in Kabul, Ghani urged need of a political solution to the conflict in the country.
During the meeting, Khalilzad briefed the Afghan president on his tours to the countries in the region focusing on peace and reconciliation of Afghanistan.
