Pakistan and Romania have agreed to enhance cooperation in diverse fields including economy, trade, defense, education and science and technology.
Consensus to this effect was reached at the 9th Round of Pakistan-Romania Bilateral Political Consultations held in Bucharest.
The Romanian side expressed deep appreciation and acknowledgement for Pakistan's contribution and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
They conveyed understanding for Pakistan's position regarding membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group for non-NPT states.
Romania also reiterated support for Pakistan-EU Strategic Engagement Plan and continuation of the GSP Plus scheme.
The Romanian side was apprised of the current situation in the South Asian region, especially on Afghanistan, Pakistan-India relations and human rights violations in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
