China has called on Pakistan and India to peacefully resolve the relevant disputes through dialogue safeguarding peace and stability in the region.
Voicing China's serious concern over the situation in Kashmir, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said in Beijing China's position on the Kashmir issue is clear and consistent.
She said it is an international consensus that the Kashmir dispute is an issue left from the past between India and Pakistan.
Referring to Indian government's step of terming Ladakh region as Union Territory, she said Beijing strongly opposed “inclusion of its territory” in the western sector under India’s jurisdiction.
She urged India to avoid taking any move that may further complicate the boundary question between the two countries.
