Sacked factory worker takes employees hostage at gunpoint in Karachi

KARACHI – A sacked factory worker made other employees hostage at gunpoint on Tuesday.

Saleem also claimed of possessing explosive in his bag.

Talking to the media, he said that he was sacked six months ago and not given the salary. “I have not harmed any person. I want to record my statement to Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa,” he said.

He said that he wants to change the system in the country and should be provided with justice.

Malir SSP Munir Sheikh told the media that the accused is a former employee of the factory. He said that manager Salman, Haq Nawaz and Dilshad have been made hostage. “The armed man is also watching TV,” he said.
