ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has said that the ECP failed to hold free and fair elections. He said the opposition parties will hold a demonstration outside the ECP office on August 8 against rigging in the elections.

Speaking at a party event in Quetta, Haq said fair and democratic elections are the solution to the country’s problems.

He said the ECP tried to repress the people from exercising their democratic right during the elections.

In Balochistan, the MMA will work to bring everyone on one platform. Haq said hidden forces used the ECP for their own purposes.

The JI chief said his party would continue working for the betterment of the people.

He also spoke about CPEC and said the people of Balochistan should also benefit from the projects. He urged parties not to use Balochistan for their own benefit and instead work for the people.
