Twin blasts in Afghanistan, casualties reported

KABUL – The public relations office of the provincial government of Nangarhar announced that three people were killed and 19 injured in two explosions that took place in District Four of Jalalabad, the provincial capital, on Saturday.

According to the office's statement, the two consecutive explosions took place at 10:00 local time, in which three people were killed, two of whom are a 22- and a 40-year old woman.

The statement added that four women and two children are seen among the 19 people that were injured. Two of the injured people are in critical conditions.

The explosions were caused by two roadside bombs and no groups have claimed the responsibility for the explosions, added the statement.
