Karachi: New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson might miss the matchesagainst Pakistan as his partner Sarah Raheem is due to give birth inmid-to-late December.
The 30-year-old Williamson also confirmed it last Friday while talking toreporters. He said that he would make a decision on whether to miss matchescloser to the time of the birth of his first child.
Meanwhile, Kiwis coach Gary Stead has said that the team has no concerns ifhe chooses to take paternity leave.
“Worst case scenario Kane misses some matches. As a dad, as a parent, youonly get that opportunity once in your life to be there for your (first)child’s birth and I know that it’s important for Kane too,” Stead toldreporters after New Zealand defeated West Indies by an innings and 134 runsin the first Test.
“At the end of the day we play cricket and other things are much moreimportant and that is much more important,” he added.
