PCB has sent two strongly worded emails to New Zealand Cricket Board

Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent two strongly wordedemails to New Zealand Ministry of Health, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) andeven considered pulling out of tour after the players were deniedpermission to train despite early assurances.

According to details, PCB Chief Executive (CEO) Wasim Khan wrote an emailto NZC in which he stated that all cleared players are under great pressureafter they were denied permission to start training and peruse intra-squadcricket activities despite clearing Covid-19 tests.

Wasim added that the players were promised training after the result oftheir fourth coronavirus test; however, they are still waiting responsefrom NZC.

“Denying them permission to practice is nothing less than putting extrapressure on the players who have consecutively tested negative for thefourth time during their nine-day confinement in New Zealand,” Wasim statedin the email.

He added that after NZC’s denial to allow players to train, PCB held ameeting on Friday and considered the option of pulling out of tour.

A source within PCB stated that all players who left for New Zealand testednegative in Lahore and they might have contracted the virus on their way toNew Zealand.
