TEHRAN – Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid called on Advisor to the SupremeLeader of Iran on International Affairs Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati in Tehrantoday (Thursday).

Issues relating to bilateral cooperation, enhancing economic activitythrough rail connectivity, border security and regional stability werediscussed in the meeting.

The Minister highlighted the deep rooted historical relations betweenPakistan and Iran and emphasized on enhancing bilateral relations throughenhanced economic activity and rail connectivity.

He thanked the Supreme Leader of Iran for his support to the cause ofKashmiri people.

He handed over a letter from President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi for theSupreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei.

On his part, Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati said that Pakistan is a very importantneighbor and Iran is committed to promote friendly relations with Pakistan.

He added we should not allow any third country to damage our brotherlyrelations.
