Positive development for elections transparency

The Election Commission of Pakistan, as reported by ARY News on Wednesday, has made the decision to extend invitations to foreign observers and media personnel for the upcoming general elections. Election commission sources have confirmed that all necessary preparations for inviting foreign election observers and media representatives have been completed, and a code of conduct has been officially established.

“All preparations for invitation to foreign election observers and media, have been completeds and a code of conduct has been finalized,” election commission sources said.

As per information from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), invitations to foreign observers will be issued once the election schedule is formally announced. These invitations will be accompanied by specialized cards featuring enhanced security features, a step aimed at ensuring the integrity of the election process.

It has been revealed that these special security-enhanced cards for foreign observers have already been produced, demonstrating the ECP's commitment to a transparent and secure electoral process. Furthermore, foreign observers and media personnel will be granted access to polling stations, allowing them to closely monitor the proceedings.

“The election commission will issue cards to election observers and the media with special security features,” sources said. The ECP sources also emphasize that foreign observers will have the opportunity to assess the transparency of the vote counting process and the compilation of election results, underscoring the commitment to a fair and open electoral system.

“Foreign observes could also inspect transparency of the vote counting and compilation of the election results,” ECP sources added.
