This latest tariff hike is part of the first quarterly adjustment of the previous fiscal year, and the additional charges will be collected from K-Electric consumers in October and November.

On Thursday, NEPRA approved another tariff increase of Rs1.71 per unit, further adding to the financial burden of power consumers. Additionally, on October 3, NEPRA approved a per-unit electricity price increase of Rs3.28 as part of the quarterly adjustment.
As per NEPRA's notification, a rate of Rs3.28 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) will be collected from various consumer categories of power distribution companies (DISCOs) and K-Electric over a six-month period from October 2023 to March 2024.
