F - 16 fighter jet shoots down military drone

America has for the first time shot down an armed Turkish drone that was flying near their troops in Syria. According to foreign news agencies, Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Pete Rayner reported that Turkish drones were seen conducting an aerial attack at a distance of approximately one kilometer from US forces in the Syrian city of Hasakah on Thursday morning.

A few hours later, the Turkish drone came even closer, less than a kilometer away, prompting an F-16 fighter aircraft to shoot it down. It's worth noting that Hasakah is in northeastern Syria and is primarily under the protection of the Kurdish People's Protection Units, an important ally in the fight against ISIS.

In response, a Turkish Ministry of Defense official stated that the downed drone did not belong to the Turkish armed forces, but they did not disclose its ownership.

It remains clear that Turkey's National Intelligence Agency conducted attacks on the positions of pro-Kurdish forces in Syria after the bomb attack in Ankara on Sunday.
