US to enhance bilateral trade with Pakistan: US envoy

KARACHI (APP): A seven member delegation include United States Counsul General, Grace Shelton and Executive Director US Trade department for Asia (International Trade Administration, James Golsen called on Chairperson Sindh Board of Investment (SBI), Naheed Memon at her office here on Thursday.

They discussed the matters of mutual interests and increasing trade volume between Pakistan and United States, said a statement.

The SBI Chairperson said that United States is third largest investor in Pakistan, after China and Switzerland and the export from Pakistan to US is double as compare to the imports from US to Pakistan.

We want to further enhance business and trade between the two countries and also intend to encourage imports from US so as to introduce new technologies in Pakistan, she added.

She said that the graph of last ten years shows that the US investment in Pakistan has been decreasing and suggested to convene Pakistan America Business Opportunities Conference at Karachi to highlight the business and trade opportunities in US and Pakistan Talking to the Chairperson SBI, Grace Shelton agreed with her suggestions and assured his every possible cooperation in his regard.
