FATA economic development plan unveiled by EU

ISLAMABAD - The European Union and International donor agencies of Germany launched a programme for economic rehabilitation of Federally Administered Tribal Areas in Peshawar on Monday.

Under the programme, they will provide twenty-two million Euros for the development and prosperity of FATA.

Under this project investment would be initiated in education, health, irrigation, drinking water and energy sectors in Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, North and South Waziristan Agencies.

Tribesmen would also be imparted technical training which will play a pivotal role in their socio-economic development.

The launching ceremony of the TDPs rehabilitation programme was attended by Ambassador of EU to Pakistan Jean Francois Cautain, Representatives of German Embassy and donor agencies besides officials of FATA Secretariat and Political Agents of respective agencies.
