Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar all set to be a free man

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar is all set to be a free man soon as he has been granted bail in 38 out of 39 cases lodged against him.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday reserved its order on Waseem Akhtar’s bail plea in the terrorists facilitation case, paving way for the Karachi mayor’s release from jail on November 16.

Akhtar had been alleged of involvement in the treatment of terrorists at the former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain’s Ziauddin Hospital.

However he was arrested and sent behind bars in organising the speech of the MQM founder Altaf Hussain on August 22.
