ISLAMABAD - Pakistani university to launch joint degree programs with UK Universities.
Vice Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Professor Dr. Zia-Ul-Qayyum has said that the AIOU will soon launch joint degree programs with University of UK and the University of London.
He stated this while addressing a ceremony after administering oath to the office bearers of Academic Staff Association (ASA) of the AIOU here on Sunday. Prof Dr. Zia-Ul-Qayyum said that joint degree programs with the UK Universities will enable their students to enrich themselves with new academic standards and contemporary needs.
He said that we are in process of negotiation with the UK’s Universities for the joint degree programs, assuring this will be in accordance with the markets’ needs and new academic requirements.
It is the first-time that the AIOU will be introducing joint degree programs in collaboration with the foreign institutions.
The VC AIOU announced that the University’s academic discipline will be improved to achieve the target of quality education. Dr. Zia-Ul-Qayyum said that providing an enabling working environment and better facilities to the academic staff and employees will be his top priority.
With the approval of their Executive Council, their medical allowance has already been doubled, while they have been granted Open-distance Learning Allowance, for the first-time in the University’s history. Through this, a substantial increase has made in their salary.
