‘Opening of Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme step towards PTI’s promises’

LAHORE: Minister for Housing & Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said that inauguration of residential projects for low-income families in Renala Khurd, Okara by Prime Minister Imran Khan under Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme was an important step towards completion of promises made with the people.
Addressing on the occasion of inauguration of the first project of Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme in Renala Khurd, the minister said the PTI government would fulfill all its promises made with the people. He regretted that the past governments deceived people in the name of Roti, Kapra Aur Makan and Aashiyana scheme, but did nothing in that regard. He said that Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme was an important step towards achieving the goal of a welfare state and its scope would be expanded to rural areas in the next phase.
He said the Punjab government had taken all stakeholders on board with regard to Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme and decisions were being made with the consultation.
A legal framework was being drafted with regard to low-cost housing schemes and recommendations were being finalized for suitable amendments in the relevant housing laws, he added.
