UHRC briefed on mob lynching of Muslims, Dalits in India

The UN Human Rights Council has been informed that Muslims in India are facing worst kind of hate crimes against them.

The Council in its ongoing 41st Session in Geneva was told that there has been lynching of Muslims and Dalits across India by fanatic Hindu mobs.

Paul Newman Kumar of the Centre for Africa Development told the session that at least ten Muslim men have been lynched in public increasing a sense of insecurity among Muslims and intensify religious tensions.

He said the Indian government has remained mute to the cries of the minorities.

He urged the United Nations to intervene and ask India to stop hate crimes against minorities including Muslims.
