Chinese national killed in firing in Defence: Police

KARACHI: A Chinese national was killed and a passerby injured in a firing incident here in Defence area on Monday evening, the police said.Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) South Javed Akbar told APP "A Chinese citizen, identified as Chen Zhu, was wounded in a firing by unidentified assailants near Zamzama Park in Defence."
The SSP said the Chinese, who was an employee of a shipping company, was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), however, he succumbed to injuries.
Javed Akbar further said a passerby, identified as Hasan Abbas, also sustained injuries in the incident and he was receiving treatment at the JPMC.
The police officer said an investigation had been started into the incident.
