PM directs federal ministries to submit performance reports

Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed all federal ministries to submit their performance reports of last one year to the Ministry of Information so that people are kept aware of PTI government's accomplishments.  

He was chairing a review meeting of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and its allied institutions in Islamabad today.

Underscoring the pivotal role of Information Ministry, the Prime Minister said Pakistan Television represents national identity, culture and civilization and our values.

The Prime Minister urged the PTV administration to create such programmes that highlight Pakistanism and reflect our social norms in true sense.

Earlier, the Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing on one year performance of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and its allied institutions, including Press Information Department, Radio Pakistan, Pakistan Television, APP and others.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan while giving briefing to the meeting said the process of appointment of Information Commissioners under Right of Access to Information Act 2017 has been completed.

She said interim wage board has been announced while work on compiling eighth wage award is in process.

The meeting was informed that Ministry of Information saved an amount of 200 million rupees last year under Prime Minister's austerity drive. In addition, a sum of 1.5 billion rupees was paid to retired employees of allied institutions of the ministry including APP and PBC.  

The meeting was also apprised that a new policy for equitable distribution of advertisements and to effectively highlight the government projects will be submitted soon for approval.
