A petition has been filed to disqualify the PML-N candidate in PP-227 Lodhran

ISLAMABAD: A PTI candidate in Lodhran’s PP-227 has petitioned the ECP to disqualify the PML-N candidate who won the election in the area.
PTI’s Nawab Amanullah has filed a petition with the ECP against Siddiq Baloch of the PML-N. Baloch won the election with 46,072 votes to Amanullah’s 39,022.
According to the petition, on Election Day Baloch made remarks against a state institution. He has also been fined Rs50,000 in a case.
The petition claimed that Baloch violated Section 170 of the Election Act — maligning the armed forces.
Amanullah also requested the ECP to disqualify him under Article 63 of the Constitution.
