Pakistan launches diplomatic onslaught against India at top UN body

Pakistan says India's violations of UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions on Kashmir posed a threat to regional and international peace, and urged the world community to call out its willful defiance of international legality.

Pakistan envoy to UN Munir Akram in an address to the UN Disarmament Commission drew attention to India's "accidental" launching of a supersonic missile into Pakistan saying it reveals serious gaps in its ability to manage their strategic assets.

He said if this was a deliberate provocation, it was highly dangerous act adding that Pakistan's self-restraint prevented the outbreak of a nuclear conflict between the two countries.

Akram said Pakistan had conveyed a series of questions to India through the UN Security Council and the Secretary-General and is still awaiting New Delhi's response hoping it would provide answers to the questions in the Disarmament Commission.
