NA - 120: Kulsoom Nawaz may be disqualified

LAHORE - The Lahore High Court Friday reserved its verdict in a case pertaining to the validity of 29,000 votes in NA-120 by-election, reported Waqt News.

The Election Commission of Pakistan had declared the alleged 29,000 bogus votes in the electoral rolls of NA-120 as genuine while maintaining that they will not be omitted from the voters list.

The decision was challenged by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) whose candidate, Dr Yasmin Rashid <link> , lost the by-election to Kalsoom Nawaz.

Dr Yasmin also said the ECP had become a sub-wing of the PML-N as several petitions filed by the PTI before it remained unfruitful. She said the PTI would not let anyone rob the votes of people. Fair and free election was critical for a prosperous Pakistan, she added.
