SHC summoned response from IG in Hareem Shah's husband abduction case

In Karachi, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has taken significant steps regarding the case of TikTok star Hareem Shah's husband, Bilal Shah, who was reported missing. The SHC has initiated legal proceedings by serving notices to high-ranking officials, including the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh, and has requested their responses to the situation.

The notices extend to the interior ministry and other relevant parties, prompting them to address the issue of Bilal Shah's abduction, which occurred on August 26 along Korangi Road. It's important to note that no formal charges have been filed against Bilal Shah, who had recently returned to Pakistan after an absence of one week.

Recent developments in the case include the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) by the police, specifically at Defense police station, in response to the abduction of Hareem Shah's husband. This action was initiated based on the complaint lodged by Bilal Shah's mother.

According to police officials, Bilal Hussain Shah, the husband of Hareem Shah, was kidnapped on August 27, further complicating the situation. Additionally, on January 28, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) took action by instructing several banks to freeze the accounts of TikToker Hareem Shah. This action was prompted by a video in which she was seen with a substantial amount of foreign currency, leading to concerns and inquiries by Pakistani authorities regarding the source and legality of these funds. Letters were sent to both Punjab Bank and Habib Bank to freeze her accounts.
