Pakistan is actively advocating for the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is scheduled to travel to India later this week to participate in the G-20 summit. While the Foreign Office has refrained from disclosing any details regarding the potential stopover of the Saudi de facto ruler on his way to New Delhi for the summit, sources within the Prime Minister's Office have not ruled out the possibility.
An undisclosed source from the Prime Minister's Office stated, "Nothing is official yet, but there are indications that the Saudi crown prince may consider a visit to Pakistan during his trip to India."
Both sides have refrained from confirming the visit, and it is speculated that they might be inclined to keep it secret until the last moment. However, if the visit materializes, it is expected to be of relatively short duration, according to insider information.
Pakistan's strong interest in hosting the Saudi crown prince, even for a brief period, is primarily driven by a desire to prevent potential public backlash.
