Reason as to why PPP is not protesting electricity bills unveiled

Islamabad: An internal story has surfaced about the Pakistan People's Party not protesting against the excessive electricity bills.
According to sources, there was a consultation within the Pakistan People's Party regarding the protest against the additional electricity bills, in which the leadership had suggested protesting on the issue of bills.
Sources within the Pakistan People's Party have stated that leaders advised the party leadership not to issue a call for protest. Leaders questioned who the protest against the electricity bills would be directed towards.
According to sources, the leaders had mentioned that protesting against being a part of the previous government is not appropriate. They advised that such a protest would have a negative impact on the party, as the increased charges in city electricity bills are the responsibility of the previous government.
