Sindh Rangers have made the decision to initiate a crackdown on illegal hydrants and the smuggling mafia, prompted by special directives received from military high-ranking officials. These instructions grant the paramilitary force, Rangers in Sindh, the authority to carry out operations against illegal hydrants and the smuggling syndicate. Simultaneously, measures will be taken to address the issue of illegal Afghan residents during these operations.
Furthermore, Sindh Rangers are preparing to launch a separate operation in the katcha regions of Sindh, with the primary goal of eradicating banditry. In addition to these operations, a comprehensive strategy has been devised to combat street crimes effectively.
One notable aspect is the compilation of lists of individuals involved in land grabbing, with plans to take action against them. To combat smuggling activities, Rangers will implement specialized measures at entry and exit points to deter unlawful practices. These decisions have been taken in response to public complaints.
Notably, Sindh Caretaker Home Minister Haris Nawaz emphasized on the importance of the katcha operation and anti-street crime measures, affirming that no compromises will be made in this regard. During a press conference, he reiterated the commitment to these measures and emphasized the need to curb street crimes and the narcotics trade. Haris Nawaz also highlighted the security challenges faced by Pakistan and expressed concern over potential threats from adversaries.
In response to recent incidents, including an attack on the Christian community in Jaranwala, the Home Minister announced plans for a thorough investigation into the Gulshan-e-Hadeed incident. He stressed that political pressure would not deter authorities from taking action, emphasizing that the katcha operation and anti-street crime measures would proceed without compromise. Haris Nawaz further pledged to extend these actions to crime hotspots, hinting at operations in Ghotki, Kashmore, and Jacobabad to enhance security and law enforcement in these areas.
