Pakistan gets strong warning from International Organization

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has issued a stern warning to Pakistan regarding its membership status due to a persistent failure to pay its annual subscription fee. Despite numerous reminders, Pakistan has not fulfilled its obligation to clear the dues for the year 2022.
This final notice from ISO comes after various attempts to communicate the urgency of the matter to Pakistan.
The gravity of the situation was conveyed to Pakistan through the United Nations office and other international entities, emphasizing that the membership of the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) would face suspension if the outstanding annual subscription fee for 2022 remained unpaid.
This warning, if unheeded, will lead to the loss of PSQCA's voting rights within ISO and also restrict their access to valuable publications and documents offered by the organization.
Notably, in 2021, Pakistan earned the distinction of being elected as a member of three United Nations (UN) bodies, underlining the international community's appreciation of its constructive contributions to global forums. These esteemed bodies include the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), and the Commission on Population and Development (CPD). It is worth highlighting that Pakistan's election to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) marked its sixth consecutive term, illustrating the nation's sustained involvement in critical international matters
