Saturday holiday abolished by Federal government

Islamabad: Federal Ministry of Education has abolished Saturday holiday for all federal educational institutions, besides announcing that winter vacations will not be given this year.

The ministry has sent a notification in this regard to the Federal Directorate of Education.

As per the notification, special classes will be arranged on Saturdays in order to overcome the educational losses suffered by the students. It added that teacher will arrange classes for students who are weak in their studies.

The ministry also decided that examination for Matric and Intermediate will be taken with a delay of 15 days.

Earlier today, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has rejected the false news social media accounts in his name are circulating that schools will remain shut until October.

Taking to twitter, he wrote that education ministers will meet on September 07 to finally decide on reopening of educational institutions.
