US Dollar drops further against Pakistani Rupee in interbank

Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its upward trajectory against the US dollar in the interbank market on Thursday, marking its 21st consecutive session of gains.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan, the rupee strengthened by Rs1 against the US dollar, reaching a trading rate of Rs284, up from yesterday's closing rate of Rs284.68.

In the open market, the dollar's value decreased by Rs1, reaching Rs284 in the morning trade, as reported by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan.

This positive trend in the rupee's value comes after the Pakistani government's intensified efforts to combat illegal dollar trading, which has contributed to the currency's appreciation. Last week, the Pakistani rupee gained 4.02 against the US dollar, following these crackdown efforts.
