New development reported in former COAS General Qamar Bajwa record leak case

Islamabad: In the case related to the leak of the tax records of former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, a court has set a date of November 9 for charging journalist Shahid Islam and FBR employees with the offense.
Special Judge Central Islamabad, Shah Rukh Arjmand, conducted the hearing of this case on Wednesday. It should be noted that journalist Ahmed Nurani had published a news article on November 20, 2022, on the website "Fact Fox," alleging significant discrepancies in General Bajwa's and his family's tax returns and wealth. After the publication of this news, the FBR had raised doubts about the figures published on Fact Fox.
IJournalist Shahid Islam is accused of obtaining tax information about former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and his family from the FBR and sending it to investigative journalist Ahmed Nurani, associated with the online publication "Fact Fox." Some FBR employees had assisted in this work.
In the month of January last year, the FIA had arrested journalist Shahid Islam along with some FBR employees, who were later released on bail. In this case, another accused, journalist Ahmed Nurani, has already been declared an absconder by the court.
